History in the Making

July 13, 2011 - Successful installation of the Opti-Ex Floating Production System was completed at the Who Dat field. Installation of the Opti-Ex is a significant milestone, because it is the first FPS installed in the Gulf of Mexico since the Macondo incident. Moreover, it is the first time that the United States Coast Guard has approved an existing FPS for installation.

The Opti-Ex is the first privately owned FPS in the world and the first semi-submersible specifically designed for the Gulf of Mexico.
